What are NDIS Innov CommunityParticipation
The NDIS's capacity-building initiative is called Innovative Community Participation (ICP). By providing innovative, customized support—such as volunteering, mentorship, and skill development—it goes beyond conventional day programs to enable participants to actively participate in their community, gain more independence, and form deep connections. The goal of innovative community participation is individual development. It boosts participants' self-esteem and confidence by assisting them in discovering their skills, hobbies, and interests.
Personalized Plans
Who is Eligible for NDIS Innov Community Participation
ICP is heavily personalized to your specific goals and interests. Key areas of focus include:
- Skill Development: Learning useful life skills, self-control, or entrepreneurial and job-related talents is known as skill development.
- Social and Community Engagement: Volunteering, taking part in the arts, or joining local clubs.
- Building Capacity: Working "side-by-side" with a "Community Engagement Practitioner" to assist you in safely navigating your neighborhood on your own
